Finally, a solution!
I had this problem for years during my morning and evening commutes.
I recently picked up a pair of SUN-SLIDES and find myself using them on a near-daily basis.
Brilliant product!
I installed SUN-SLIDES on my car and very quickly had a "Why didn't I think of this?!" moment. Needless to say, we now have them on several cars. They've held up very well under the glaring rays of the South and the overall ride is much more comfortable. The cabin temps are definitely cooler and easier to moderate as well, an added bonus!
